GROWTH: Developing A Community
Part two of our three-tiered approach, children attend our Children’s Home in Laki Tatu, Tanzania. In a family setting, children go to school in the local villages, do daily chores at the home and enjoy daily meals as a group. The grounds hold dormitories, which house the children and staff as well as a large garden, and livestock project which provides food for the home. Chickens, cows and pigs are raised and sold at the local markets, and a few cows and goats are kept to provide milk for the children.
Daily life at the home includes sewing projects allowing the children and locals to learn skills free of charge. Sunrise of Life strives to better not only the lives of the children, but the local community in which it thrives.
